About Me

ashell Fernando's Portrait

Friends call me Ash. Started coding when I was in high school circa 2008. First developed C++ applications, then moved to Java, then to C#, then finally before a hiatus, LAMP-stack. Developed and managed websites and databases for a gaming community, which developed "private servers" of actual games (they ripped the game files, and used Apache to host and LogMeIn's service to connect to others.) Then my health field career started. I was a Pharmacy Technician from 2015, with no experience but with determination, became a nationally certified after a year (most people pay for classes at local college to prepare for the examination).

Being a Pharmacy Technician for 4 years changed my life. It was the catalyst I needed to speedup my goals for the future. With grit and perseverance, I studied and studied hard for 2 years on fundamentals of MERN stack and fundamentals of javascript. Through that time, I gained insight in the life of a developer, a corporate employee, and a leader.

In March of 2018, I was lucky to get into Google/Udacity scholarship program, "Grow With Google"

I want to thank my managers for letting me study while working.
